Cala Medical

Cala Medical is a biotechnology company focused on inflammation-based diseases, developing life-saving therapies for sepsis and other diseases of the immune system.

I worked with Cala Medical on a leaflet for a big International Medical & Pharmaceutical event held in Boston USA. The speakers at this event only had 10 – 15 minutes to discuss their company, along with it’s research and development. With this challenge at hand, we decided to condense and communicate the most important information in it’s most simplest form. Explaining a complicated medical process by using easily digestible icons and infographics.

This leaflet had to be interesting and attention grabbing. So we decided to let the user become part of the process of the information, by use of user interaction. The medical process begins when the C5A molecule splits. So we created paper stickers of this molecule for the gates of the leaflet. These would be placed on the leaflet opening and the user would have to physically rip the molecule apart to reveal and open up the journey of how it works.
